How to Spray Paint a Surface

Spray painting a surface is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to paint a  surface. A smooth uniform finish can be achieved, but only if the following steps are taken. First, you must remove all dust, grease and debris from the surface. Any sort of debris can cause imperfections in the final appearance. Next, you will want to sand down the surface. Start by using 100 grit sandpaper and work your way up to 220 grit. By sanding the surface not only do you smooth the surface you also create surface that will allow paint to adhere to it. Once the surface is prepped it is now time to prime the surface. To do so select a spray can primer that is made for the surface of your choice. Hold the spray can 6-8 inches away from the surface you want to spray. Apply the paint in an even motion overlapping by 50% each pass. Once the primer is dry give the surface one final sanding using 220 grit paper. After the surface is sanded clean the surface from all dust. Finally it is time to paint your surface. To paint the surface follow the same technique you did with the primer coat. Apply 2 coats of the top coat and you are finished.
